The Line of Sight is a durational performance work set near Urad Rear Banner in Inner Mongolia, tracing the geopolitical boundary between Inner Mongolia, China and Mongolia. Working within the contested landscape of the Gobi Desert, the work investigates the tension between nomadic heritage and state territoriality, between ancestral patterns of movement and the hard restrictions of contemporary borders. The work forms a conceptual counterpart to Two Sides: Mexicali, Mexico and Calexico, California, extending a transcontinental dialogue about border identity, mobility, and cultural memory.
